Associate Professor Kamal (Kam) Dua, University of Technology Sydney (UTS) based research collaborator and research advisor of De’Aurora Pty Ltd present DE’RAAQSIN™ Agarwood Nanoemulsion Technology at 2025 CAE Symposium & 12th International Symposium of Food Science
August 10, 2025 – Changsha, Hunan, China
De’Aurora Pty Ltd, in collaboration with Associate Professor Kamal Dua, unveiled its proprietary DE’RAAQSIN™ technology (patented Agarwood nanoemulsion) at the 2025 Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Engineering Technology Academic Symposium—Promoting Beautiful Rural Construction & Accelerating the Development of Agricultural Product Processing, Storage, and Transportation Industries—and the 12th International Symposium of Food Science, held August 8–10, 2025 in Changsha, Hunan, China.
De’Aurora’s presentation of DE’RAAQSIN™ showcased the fusion of traditional botanical wisdom with cutting-edge nanotechnology, underscoring its potential to drive sustainable growth in agriculture, food safety, and wellness industries.
Scientific Insights
DE’RAAQSIN™ is the commercial brand name for De’Aurora’s patented agarwood oil nanoemulsion platform (WO2024229503A1). Developed using high-energy emulsification and precision droplet engineering, the technology produces uniform oil-in-water nanoemulsions with particle sizes consistently between 160–200 nanometres. This nanometric scale significantly increases surface area-to-volume ratio, resulting in:
- Enhanced Bioavailability – More efficient absorption across biological membranes.
- Improved Stability – Resistance to flocculation and phase separation, prolonging shelf life.
- Optimised Functional Delivery – Preservation of thermolabile and volatile agarwood bioactives.
Agarwood (Aquilaria spp.) is traditionally valued for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and respiratory health properties. The DE’RAAQSIN™ nanoemulsion enhances these effects by improving aqueous dispersibility and targeted delivery, making it suitable for:
- Agricultural product preservation
- Food safety enhancement
- Respiratory health support and inflammation management
Research Highlights
In a peer-reviewed study published in Toxicology in Vitro (PMID: 36839377), Dr Dua demonstrated that DE’RAAQSIN™ significantly reduces cigarette smoke-induced inflammation and oxidative stress in human airway epithelial cells. The study found that the nanoemulsion could:
- Reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-8, GDF-15)
- Increase anti-inflammatory factors (IL-10, IFN-γ)
- Activate antioxidant genes (GCLC, GSTP1) and the PI3K cell survival signalling pathway
These findings provide molecular-level evidence that DE’RAAQSIN™ has the potential to modulate key inflammatory and oxidative stress pathways, making it a promising candidate for respiratory health applications and other chronic inflammation-related conditions.
